ABOUT SUPERFINE SAFARIS LIMITED

About Superfine Safaris Limited

We Know Africa. We Live Here. We Travel Here.

Superfine Safaris Limited is a proudly Ugandan tour and travel company built around a genuine love for Africa and a desire to share its extraordinary places with travelers from around the world.

We are natives of Uganda, born and raised in Uganda, with a personal understanding of the country, its people, cultures, landscapes and wildlife. Our experience also extends beyond our home country. We have explored Rwanda, Kenya and Tanzania, giving us first-hand knowledge of several of East Africa’s most remarkable safari destinations.

For us, this is more than a business.

Africa is part of who we are.

We understand the excitement of travelling through the region because we have experienced its destinations ourselves. We know the landscapes, appreciate the diversity between countries and understand the importance of good planning when travelling across East Africa.

Our responsibility is to turn that knowledge into meaningful, well-organised journeys for our guests.

Who We Are

Superfine Safaris Limited is a Uganda-based tour operator offering personalised travel experiences in Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya and Tanzania.

Our core experiences include gorilla trekking, wildlife safaris, chimpanzee tracking, birding, cultural experiences, mountain adventures, honeymoon journeys, family holidays and tailor-made safaris.

We work with individual travellers, couples, families, private groups and other travellers who want to experience East Africa in a way that suits their own interests and expectations.

We understand that no two travellers are the same.

Some guests dream of standing in a rainforest with a mountain gorilla family. Others want to spend days watching wildlife on the savannah. Some want a combination of primates and big game, while others are interested in birds, culture, photography, mountains or simply discovering places away from the usual routes.

That is why we do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach.

We listen to what our clients want, offer honest advice and then build the journey around them.

Our Ugandan Roots

Our strongest connection is with Uganda.

We were born and raised here, and Uganda remains at the heart of our work.

From the forests of Bwindi and Kibale to the savannahs of Murchison Falls, Queen Elizabeth, Lake Mburo and Kidepo Valley, we understand the incredible variety that makes Uganda such a special destination.

Uganda is home to mountain gorillas, chimpanzees, elephants, lions, leopards, hippos, buffaloes, giraffes and countless other species. It also offers spectacular mountains, lakes, rivers, forests and diverse cultures.

But our relationship with Uganda goes beyond its tourist attractions.

We understand the country as a home.

We appreciate the communities, local traditions and everyday experiences that give each destination its character. This local perspective influences how we plan our safaris and how we introduce visitors to the country.

We want our guests to see Uganda, but we also want them to experience it.

Our Experience Across East Africa

Our knowledge does not stop at Uganda’s borders.

We have also explored Rwanda, Kenya and Tanzania, allowing us to understand the different experiences available across the region.

Rwanda offers the dramatic volcanic landscapes of the Virunga region, mountain gorillas, golden monkeys, wildlife and a rich cultural experience.

Kenya is renowned for its spectacular savannahs, diverse wildlife and iconic destinations such as the Maasai Mara and Amboseli.

Tanzania offers vast wilderness areas, the Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire and many other extraordinary safari landscapes.

Having travelled through these destinations ourselves helps us appreciate their individual strengths.

It also allows us to have more meaningful conversations with clients who are unsure where to go.

Sometimes Uganda is the right choice.

Sometimes Rwanda makes more sense.

Sometimes Kenya or Tanzania best matches what a traveller wants.

And sometimes the best option is to combine destinations across two or more countries.

Our role is to help you make that decision based on your interests, time and budget.

What We Do

Gorilla Safaris

Gorilla trekking is one of our specialist areas.

We arrange gorilla trekking experiences in Uganda and Rwanda, helping travellers plan everything from permits and accommodation to transportation and additional activities.

For many of our guests, seeing mountain gorillas is a lifelong dream. We understand how important that experience is and take care to plan the journey around it.

We also help travellers combine gorilla trekking with other experiences, including wildlife safaris, chimpanzee tracking, cultural activities and relaxation.

Wildlife Safaris

We organise wildlife safaris across Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya and Tanzania.

Depending on your interests, a safari can focus on the Big Five, primates, birding, photography, the Great Migration, landscapes or a combination of different experiences.

We create itineraries ranging from short wildlife escapes to longer journeys through several destinations.

Chimpanzee Safaris

Uganda’s forests offer exceptional opportunities to encounter chimpanzees in their natural environment.

Chimpanzee tracking can be arranged as a stand-alone experience or combined with gorilla trekking and other wildlife activities.

Birding Safaris

East Africa is a rewarding region for birdwatchers.

We design birding journeys for dedicated birders as well as travellers who simply enjoy adding bird watching to a wider safari.

Uganda in particular offers an impressive range of habitats, making it possible to combine birding with gorillas, chimpanzees, wildlife and cultural experiences.

Cultural Experiences

Wildlife is only one part of Africa’s story.

People, traditions, food, music, crafts and history all contribute to the character of a destination.

We include cultural and community experiences where they add genuine value to a journey, allowing guests to meet local people and gain a better understanding of the places they visit.

Family Safaris

Travelling with family requires a different approach.

We take into consideration children’s ages, accommodation requirements, travel times, activities and the overall pace of the safari when creating family itineraries.

Our aim is to make sure that the journey is enjoyable for everyone.

Honeymoon Safaris

A safari can be a wonderful way to celebrate a honeymoon or another special occasion.

We create private and romantic journeys that combine wildlife and adventure with comfortable accommodation, beautiful landscapes and time to relax.

Mountain and Adventure Travel

For travellers who enjoy being active, we arrange hiking and mountain experiences alongside other safari activities.

From volcanic landscapes to Uganda’s mountain ranges and forest trails, East Africa provides plenty of opportunities for adventure.

Our Approach

We Listen First

Every safari begins with a conversation.

Before recommending an itinerary, we want to understand what you are looking for.

What do you want to see?

How much time do you have?

What type of accommodation do you prefer?

What is your budget?

Are you interested in wildlife, gorillas, birds, culture, photography or adventure?

Would you prefer a relaxed journey or a packed itinerary?

These questions help us understand the kind of experience that will suit you.

Only then do we begin putting the journey together.

We Give Honest Advice

Trust is one of the most important parts of our relationship with clients.

We believe travellers deserve honest information before they make decisions.

If a route involves long driving days, we explain that.

If a trek requires physical preparation, we tell you.

If there is a more practical way to structure your itinerary, we suggest it.

If a particular destination does not fit what you are looking for, we would rather explain why than recommend it simply because it is easier to sell.

Our objective is to help you make an informed decision and have a safari that lives up to your expectations.

We Pay Attention to the Details

A safari may look simple on paper, but many individual arrangements need to work together.

Permits, accommodation, transportation, activities, park entries, transfers and timing all need to be coordinated.

We pay attention to these details because we know that small things can make a significant difference to the overall experience.

Our work continues from the first enquiry through the planning stage and into the operation of the safari itself.

Tailor-Made Travel

We believe the best journeys have room for individuality.

Our itineraries can be designed around different budgets and travel styles, including budget, midrange and luxury safaris.

A traveller looking for an affordable adventure should not have to follow the same itinerary as someone seeking a luxury experience.

Likewise, a wildlife photographer may have different priorities from a honeymoon couple or a family travelling with teenagers.

We therefore focus on creating journeys that are appropriate for the people travelling.

Our Commitment to Responsible Tourism

We are fortunate to operate in places that contain some of the world’s most important wildlife habitats.

With that privilege comes responsibility.

We believe tourism should contribute positively to wildlife conservation, local communities and the long-term protection of natural environments.

We encourage our guests to respect wildlife, follow park regulations and listen to the guidance of professional guides and rangers.

We also value the contribution of local people who make tourism possible, including guides, drivers, trackers, porters, lodge staff and community members.

Where appropriate, we incorporate locally based experiences and services into our itineraries so that visitors can connect more meaningfully with the communities they encounter.

The People Behind Your Safari

A safari is never created by one person.

Behind every journey are guides, drivers, rangers, trackers, lodge teams, reservation staff and many other people working together.

We value the relationships we have built with the people who contribute to our operations.

Our guests often remember their guide or driver as much as they remember a particular wildlife sighting.

That is why we believe professionalism, communication and genuine hospitality matter.

We want our clients to feel looked after without losing the sense of adventure that makes an African safari special.

What We Believe

Travel Should Be Personal

Your safari should reflect your interests, not simply follow a predetermined formula.

Local Knowledge Matters

Knowing a destination from personal experience allows us to provide more useful and realistic advice.

Trust Comes First

We value honest communication, even when the answer is not necessarily the easiest one.

Africa Is More Than Wildlife

Wildlife is a major reason people travel here, but the people, cultures, landscapes and communities are equally important parts of the experience.

Responsible Travel Matters

The future of African tourism depends on protecting the places and communities that make these journeys possible.

Every Journey Should Leave a Memory

We want our guests to return home with stories they will still be telling years later.

Our Vision

To become one of East Africa’s most trusted safari companies, recognised for genuine local knowledge, personalised service, memorable experiences and responsible tourism.

Our Mission

To create authentic and thoughtfully planned journeys across East Africa, combining local knowledge, professional service and personalised travel experiences that connect guests with Africa’s wildlife, landscapes, people and cultures.
