Day 1: Pickup, transfer to  Volcanoes National Park – Visit Ibyiwacu

The driver guide from Superfine Safaris will pick you up from either your hotel in Kigali or the airport for a transfer to Volcanoes National Park. After the meet and greet, briefly read through the itinerary to know what to expect on this 2-day gorilla tour/ You will then start the drive northwestwards to Volcanoes National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas.  Check into the lodge and refresh. Thereafter, go for a cultural tour to the gorilla guardian village (Ibyiwacu) where you will learn and experience the traditions, norms, customs, and beliefs of local people. Take part in different local practices such as brewing local beer, grinding sorghum/millet, peeling matoke, and dressing as a queen or King. Interact with local people and learn about their lifestyles, an experience you will never forget. Drive to back to your hotel for dinner and overnight

Day 2: Mountain gorilla trekking & Departure

2 days rwanda gorilla tourRise early, have breakfast, and with a packed lunch, drive to Kinigi park headquarters of Volcanoes National Park, where you will be registered and briefed on the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking.  The park wardens will divide you into eight groups, each allocated a gorilla family to visit. Each group of travelers is assigned two armed park rangers to escort them to and from the gorilla trek. At 8:0am, the actual adventure begins! Hike up and down hill through the bamboo forests of Volcanoes National Park searching for the endangered mountain gorillas. The trekking time is not certain but ranges between 2-6 hours, depending on the location of the allocated gorilla family and the hiking speed of the slowest person in your group.

After meeting the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend an hour with the endangered primates in their natural habitat. Enjoy seeing how a silverback Gorilla fearlessly guards his family while adult females take care of the young ones. You are advised to observe the trekking guidelines as briefed by the rangers.  Keep a distance, hold your camers tight and keep calm allowing you to enjoy the ebst of this magical encounter.  You will then hike down, to the starting pont receive your trekking certificates and with your driver ransfer to the aiport for departure or to your hotel in Kigali for an overnight
