Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale

Our guide will pick you early in the morning at your Hotel in Kampala or at the airport on arrival and soon brief you about the trip. You will then embark on the journey to Kibale Forest National Park-the primate capital of East Africa. Enjoy scenic views of the villages of this beautiful country as you drive towards your destination. You will have stopovers at local markets for fruits and a chance to interact with the local people. You will then proceed to Kibale arriving in the evening hours. Check at the lodge in the park, relax, have dinner and spend a night there.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi wetland walk

After a heavy breakfast at the lodge on this day, you will drive to the park offices for a briefing with other tourists on the rules for trekking the chimpanzees. You will then be led into the forest in search for habituated chimpanzees living in large groups. Be ready to set your eyes on several other primates like the olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, Vervet monkeys, grey-checked mangabey and L’Hoest’s monkeys, among others. After hours of trekking through the forest, you will meet the habituated chimps and be allowed to spend a full hour with them. You will be allowed to take photos, videos and also as your guide some questions for clarity. Return to the starting point after this amazing wild experience and meet your guide. Drive to the lodge for lunch, launch nature walks in the afternoon to Bigodi wetland for an excursion into the beautiful flora and fauna of this natural forest. Return to the lodge for relaxation, Dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP

After breakfast at the lodge, you will embark on the journey, transferring to Queen Elizabeth National Park which is one of Uganda’s largest and oldest parks. Enjoy 4-5 hours’ drive through beautiful tea plantations and the lush vegetation by the roadside. You will soon get to your destination at Queen Elizabeth National Park. Arrive in the afternoon hours, have lunch and head out for a game drive in the open park for your favorite animals like the elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, warthogs, lions, giraffes, and waterbucks among others. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 4: Game drive and  Transfer to Bwindi NP

After a tasty breakfast at the lodge, you will check out of the lodge and join your guide driving to the park for a morning game drive. You will have a chance to watch your favorite animals like the tree-climbing lions, elephants, buffalo and warthogs, among others. After this drive, you will stop at a restaurant for lunch and proceed to Bwindi National Park through Kanungu. The stunning views of the hilly area will give you a clear picture of the land as you approach your destination. Check in at the lodge on arrival, have dinner and spend a night at your accommodation.

Day 5: Mountain Gorilla Trekking

The day starts with a tasty breakfast at the lodge and then drive to the park offices arriving at 7am to be briefed with other tourists. The rangers will guide you on the dos and don’ts of Gorilla trekking experience before leading you to the forest in search for habituated Gorillas. After several hours trekking into the forest, you will meet a family with its leader, the silverback. You will be allowed to spend a full hour with the gorillas as you monitor their behavior and taking pictures for memories. After this whole experience, you will return to the starting point to meet your guide and transfer to your lodge for lunch. Head out for a community visit to have an interaction with the locals to learn about their livelihood. Return to the lodge later for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Departure

Breakfast early and get on the road on a 6-8 hours’ journey to Kampala.
