Details of the Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive and transfer to Bwindi Forest National Park

Upon arrival at the airport in Entebbe, you will be welcomed by our guide and after a short greeting, you will set off for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, the home of the mountain Gorillas. Enjoy a rewarding 7-9 hours’ drive journey as you enjoy the stunning views of the local areas of Uganda. You will have a stopover at the equator line of Uganda for pictures and for souvenirs and then proceed to Igongo cultural center for a cultural excursion and lunch. Embark on your journey through Kabale town enjoying the stunning views of the rolling hills of this part of the country. Arrive at the lodge, check in, relax, have dinner and spend a night at that lodge.

Day 2: 1^st Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

Start your day with breakfast and get into your car driving to the briefing point in the park. You will find other visitors and after the briefing exercise, be divided into groups of eight individuals according to your strength. This is meant to ensure that all members in one group are able to move at the same pace during the hiking following the Gorilla family. After several hours trekking in the dense forest, you will meet the mountain Gorillas and have a whole hour with them as you learn about their behavior in their natural habitat. The silverback is seen guarding the family, mothers taking care of their young and the juveniles playing. Return to your guide later after this experience and drive to the lodge for lunch and relaxation for the rest of the evening. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 3: 2^nd Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

Breakfast is served very early to allow you to catchup with the briefing at the park offices where the rangers take you through all the rules of the jungle regarding the Gorillas. This second Gorilla trekking experience is meant to ensure a much closer understanding of the Gorilla behavior in a different Gorilla family not the one previously tracked. After meeting the Gorillas, you will have a more thrilling experience as you get to inquire and learn more about all you may have missed the previous day.

Return to your guide afterwards and head for lunch at the restaurant. After your meal, you will have a guided nature walk in the forest or have a community tour to interact with the local people to learn about their daily lives. Traditional performances through music and dance will make your trip a memorable one. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Return to Entebbe

Breakfast will be at the lodge very early and soon embark on the 7-9-hour journey back to Kampala.
