2 Days Bwindi Gorilla Tour Starting From Kigali

Enjoy our tailored 2-day Bwindi Gorilla tour to explore the life of the habituated mountain Gorillas in their natural habitat. Uganda is home to the largest population of Gorillas living in the mountains of Bwindi in large families. Located in southwestern Uganda shared by kabale and Rubanda districts, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is the prime gorilla tour destination in the whole world. The dense forested park is home to over 50 mountain gorillas, which make up half of the world’s total gorilla population. The forest is divided into four regions (Buhoma, Ruhija, Nkuringo, and Rushaga).  The 2-day Bwindi gorilla tour is an opportunity to trek any one of the 20 gorilla groups in Bwindi Forest.

Trekking can be done in any of the four regions. The gorilla groups in Bwindi Forest National Park are Mubare group, Nkuringo group, Habinyanja group, Kutu group, Mishaya group, Kyaguliro group, Bweza group, Posho group, Busingye group, Kate group, Christmas group, Oruzogo group and Nkuringo group among others. Each gorilla group is visited by 8 people per day, and each Uganda gorilla trekking permit costs $800. In addition to gorilla trekking, Bwindi Forest is a Centre for gorilla habituation experience done only in Rushaga sector. The experience costs $1500 per permit, allowing travelers to spend four hours with the endangered gorillas.  The 2-day Bwindi gorilla tour starts and ends in Kigali, Rwanda

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

The driver guide from Superfine Safaris will pick you up from either your hotel or Kigali International Airport for the 2-day gorilla trek in Bwindi Forest.  Drive through Kigali city, crossing to Uganda either through Cyanika border in Kisoro or Katuna border in Kabale. This depends on the gorilla region you are visiting. Check in at your respective lodge and rest, waiting for the next day’s adventure!

 

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking & departure

After breakfast on this day, you will drive to the park offices for a briefing session with other guests. The briefing is mainly introducing you to the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking and gorilla family allocation. If you have any difficulties, inform your guide so that you are allocated a gorilla group fit for you.  You will then hit the jungle with a guide, hiking through the thick undergrowth searching for the habituated mountain Gorillas. 2 Days Uganda gorilla tour to BwindiAfter several hours of hiking through the mountains of Bwindi, you will meet these amazing apes and be allowed to spend an hour in their presence.
