3 Days Bwindi Gorilla Habituation Experience Tour

Enjoy this 3 Days Bwindi gorilla habituation experience, allowing you to spend four hours with the endangered gorillas in the wild.  The 3-day experiential tour takes place only in Rushaga sector south of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. The experience entails hiking up in the jungle forest along with the team of gorilla doctors, researchers, and conservationists to meet the gorilla undergoing training. The 2-3 year experience is about training and taming wild gorillas to make them familiar with people.  Unlike gorilla trekking, where tourists are allowed to be with the mountain gorillas for only one hour, Gorilla habituation allows visitors to participate in the entire activity of training the mountain Gorillas for 4 hours. Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi National Park

Our representative from Superfine Safaris will be at your Hotel/lodge in Entebbe/Kampala to pick you after your breakfast and be on the road to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. This park is located in the southwestern part of Bwindi and is home to Uganda’s largest population of mountain gorillas. The journey to Bwindi takes you about 7-9 hours enjoying the scenic views of the different landscapes from central to the southern side of Uganda. Our experienced guide/driver will ensure to stop at particular attractions like the Uganda Equator for a photo moment and other information. You will then proceed to Mbarara and if time allows stop for lunch and continue to Kabale the land of many hills. Soon arrive at the park and check in at the lodge, relax, have dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla Habituation Experience

After breakfast at the lodge, you will drive to the park headquarters for briefing with other tourists on the rules for Gorilla habituation. You will also be divided in groups and soon be led into the forest by a team of guides to start on the search for Gorillas. After meeting the Gorillas, you will assist them in observing the behavior of the Gorillas and on some special days, participate in the naming of the Gorillas. This whole experience will last for about 4 hours, allowing you to full take part in getting the Gorillas used to the presence of humans. After the four hours of this adventure, you will return to the starting point to meet your guide and transfer to the Hotel/lodge. Relax that evening, have dinner, and spend the night there.

Day 3: Departure

The day starts with a tasty breakfast meal at the lodge, check out, and begin the journey to 7-9 hours’ journey to Kampala. Stop at Igongo cultural center for lunch and a cultural excursion and proceed to Entebbe for your final flight.
