Details of the Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Bwindi

Our representative will be at the airport waiting for you, and on arrival head straight to your safari vehicle on a journey to Bwindi in the southwestern part of Uganda. There will be stopovers on this 7-9 hours’ journey at the different tour attractions and lunch as you drive towards your destination. Driving through the countryside is a rewarding experience as you enjoy the fresh African air at from the beautiful vegetation by the roadside. A drive through the flat Ankole and the Kigezi hills as you approach Bwindi is another amazing experience as you set your eyes on the scenic views of the area. Arrive at the lodge with in the park and get ready for the major highlight of the trip, meeting face to face with the forest giants, the mountain Gorillas. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Tracking

After an early breakfast at the lodge, you will drive off to the briefing point in the park where other visitors will also be gathered to be guided on the Gorilla trekking rules. You will then be divided into groups of 8 according to your abilities to make trekking more impressive and fun.  A guide will then lead you into the jungles and get on the journey trekking through the dense forest in search for the habituated Mountain Gorillas. After meeting the Gorillas, you will have a chance to watch the behavior of these giant apes as they feed and go about their daily activities under the guidance of the silverback. this whole experience will go on for an hour as your guide shares more insights about their general behavior in their natural habitat. Return to your starting point after this amazing adventure and drive to your lodge for lunch depending on the time of return. Chat the evening away as you refresh your memories watching the sunset. Dinner and overnight will be at your accommodation.

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi –Island Tour

Have breakfast at your lodge in the morning and embark on a journey transferring to Lake Bunyonyi located a few kilometers from Bwindi. Check in at the lodge, and immediately head out to explore the beautiful Islands on a canoe for birding and to learn about the great history of these Islands. You can also opt for activities like swimming on this Crocodile-Free waterbody. Lake Bunyonyi is also known for its birdlife that are seen during your visit to the different islands. 

Return to your lodge later for lunch and head out for a community tour to interact with the locals to learn about their livelihood. Enjoy traditional performances from the local groups and also take park in activities like weaving baskets. Retire at the lodge later for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Explore Bunyonyi and Departure

The day starts with a tasty breakfast meal at the lodge enjoying the sunrise. Explore more of Lake Bunyonyi, take part in optional activities such as swimming, nature walking, bird watching and ziplining, among others. Thereafter, check out and start the drive headed to Kampala. You will have a stopover at Igongo Cultural Center to explore the Ankole culture and to have your lunch and a Souvenir. Proceed to Kampala and head to Entebbe International Airport for your flight back home.
