Kibale National Park is the best place to find chimpanzees and other diverse primate species. Up to 13 species of primates reside in Kibale, making it an extraordinary primate destination. For your chimp trek, expect to assemble at Kanyanchu Visitor Centre to begin the day with briefing and allocation of park ranger guides.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a compact Protected Area with 331 sq. km of land area coverage. Lying in the extreme southwestern Uganda, Bwindi is most popular for its huge concentrations of wildlife, including over 120 species of mammals comprising of over 459 mountain gorillas.

Queen Elizabeth National Park is most popular for its distinct wildlife and offers exceptional game viewing experience. Queen Elizabeth Park is Uganda’s 2nd biggest Park and takes its name from the late Queen Elizabeth the second of England. A huge concentration of wildlife call this Park home, including the Cape buffalo, elephants, warthogs, leopards, hippos, lions (plus the tree-climbing lions), and a range of antelope families.

Day 1: Pickup from Hotel – Transfer to Kibale

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking – Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP

Day 3: Lion tracking – launch cruise along the Kazinga channel

Day 4: Ishasha tree climbing lions – Transfer to Bwindi National Park

Day 5: Mountain gorilla trekking – Visit Batwa Pygmies

Day 6: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi – Canoeing and island tour

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pickup from Hotel – Transfer to Kibale

After a heavy breakfast, meet your safari expert for a warm morning greeting and briefing about your enriching 7-day tour in Uganda –the Pearl of Africa. Have your luggage safely packed in the 4×4 safari car and today, expect to transfer to Kibale in western Uganda. To get to Kibale, you will drive along the Kampala-Mityana-Mubende to Fort Portal City route for about 6 hours.

En route to the scenic Kibale Forest National Park, you will appreciate the stunning views of the countryside, including the Matiri Forest, tea and banana farms. A special stopover will be made at the cool and beautiful Fort Portal Tourism City for you to enjoy lunch. At Fort Portal, don’t leave without a glimpse of the breathtaking Rwenzori Mountain ranges at the background. Leave Fort Portal city for you to check in your respective lodges or camps.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking – Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP

Enjoy an early breakfast at the lodge, and after, you will be transferred to Kanyanchu to meet the Kibale Park officials. Get cleared by the reservation team before you join others for a briefing on chimpanzee tracking rules. You will be leaving Kanyanchu after you have been assigned a park ranger guide. The chimp trek will officially begin at around 8:00 am and may go for 2 to 4 hours.

During the chimpanzee trek, you will have an hour for observing chimpanzees, taking pictures, and appreciating all unique features as showcased by these primates. If you are keen enough, you will be spotting other diverse primates plus bird species.

Return from the chimp encounter and settle for lunch in your respective lodges. Later in the afternoon, expect to connect to Queen Elizabeth National Park, taking a scenic route with myriad of stunning Crater Lakes. A stopover will be made at the magnificent Kikorongo Equator monument en route to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day 3: Lion tracking – launch cruise along the Kazinga channel

7 Days Uganda safariFollowing a tasty breakfast at the lodge, embark on the rewarding lion tracking experience along the Kasenyi Plains. Expect to spend quality time searching for lions in the wild with help of an experienced researcher. Today, you will have a great time observing the kings of the jungle plus other wildlife and birds. Later, you will return to have a delicious lunch and some relaxation.

In the afternoon, you will have a launch/boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. The Kazinga channel launch cruise will take at least 2 hours and expect to encounter hippos, crocodiles, plus a diversity of aquatic birds.

Day 4: Ishasha tree climbing lions – Transfer to Bwindi National Park

Pick up early morning after you have had breakfast and also checked out of the lodge. You will be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park but expect an en route stopover at Ishasha for you to search for the tree-climbing lions. From the Ishasha sector, proceed to have lunch and later, you will be transferred to the lodge for relaxation.

Day 5: Mountain gorilla trekking – Visit Batwa Pygmies

Silverback gorilla tourGet up early to prepare and later, proceed to the park offices for you to get briefed on gorilla trekking guidelines. You will also be allocated a park ranger guide plus a gorilla group to visit. The actual trekking will start at around 8:00 am and may take 2-6 hours, depending on your speed of walking or the location of the gorillas.

A maximum of 1 hour will be availed for you to enjoy up up-close and personal encounter with Bwindi mountain gorillas and take pictures. Expect to get back to chill at your lodge and also be served a delicious lunch.

Day 6: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi – Canoeing and Island tour

At leisure, enjoy a hefty breakfast, then continue to Lake Bunyonyi. Lake Bunyonyi is among the magnificent lakes in Uganda and is the country’s deepest lake. It is known for its tranquility, characterized by 29 islands. Expect to get to Lake Bunyonyi early and check in your resorts. Later, you will proceed with a canoe ride to some of the islands on Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 7: Transfer to Kampala / Kigali for drop off

Have a cup of tea/coffee and later, check out of your lodge/camp. Today, you will be returning to Kampala or opt to connect to Kigali for your departure.
