Set right on the doorstep of the verdant Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, this Guesthouse is part of a Ugandan non-governmental Organization that supports women struggling with single motherhood, poverty, domestic violence, HIV, and widowhood.

This Guesthouse has been in existence since 2009 and currently features 15 rooms including 8 en-suite rooms in the popular Mwebesa House and 7 on the Noel’s Cottage that boasts breathtaking views of Nyabubare stream and waterfalls. The rooms have secluded verandas with comfy chairs, and an en-suite bathroom with a shower, a sink, and a cloth rack among others.

There is also a spacious restaurant onsite, where guests can enjoy fresh and local food prepared in a charcoal kitchen hence providing an opportunity to relish a taste of typical Ugandan cooking. There is also a small bar serving wine, beer, and a selection of spirits.

Buhoma Community Rest Camp

Also referred to as the “Bwindi Community Hospital Guesthouse”, this accommodation facility was once home to Dr. Scott Kellermann, the Hospital founder, and has hosted hundreds of guests over the two decades of its existence.

It offers affordable accommodation for individuals, couples, families, and large groups, especially doctors and volunteers at the Hospital. However, tourists are also welcome to experience their services and every dollar spent here goes directly into supporting the provision of medical care as well as other health services at the Community Hospital.

Guests are accommodated within Mama Diane’s Guesthouse with four Independent Cottages and one large home with 7 self-contained rooms. Here, there are 13 rooms in total with a bathroom (hot water in each room), a central dining area, and Wi-Fi. This part of the property is perfect for large groups.

The Nkwenda Gorilla Property is within the border of the Forest and perfect place for gorilla trekkers. It has 4 homes with 5 rooms boasting breathtaking views of Bwindi Forest.
