Detailed Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe from Paris
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport from Paris and meet your driver guide from Superfine Safaris Limited. After meet and greet, you will transfer to your hotel in Entebbe to unwind, relax, and shake off any jet lag. Dinner and overnight at Papyrus Guest House (Midrange) / No.5 Boutique Hotel (Luxury).
Day 2: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Depart early in the morning after a hearty breakfast. Embark on a 5-6 hours’ drive via tea plantations, local communities and towns headed south west to Queen Elizabeth National Park Uganda’s second largest and popular park. Arrive in the afternoon, check in and refresh. Dinner and overnight at Kasenyi Safari Camp (Comfort) / Elephant Plains Lodge (Luxury).
Day 3: Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise
Early today, drive to the savannahs of kasenyi sector for guided game viewing experience. Enjoy scenic views of wild animals such as Lions, Leopards, Buffalos, Elephants, Uganda kobs, Waterbucks, Topis, Elands, Hyenas and Warthogs among others. Have breakfast and hot lunch. In the afternoon, embark on a 2-hour boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel for scenic game viewing, birding and photography. Dinner and overnight at the lodge
Day 4: Tree-Climbing Lions of Ishasha to Bwindi Forest
Following morning breakfast, start the drive to Ishasha sector to look out for the famous tree climbing lions. The guided game drive is a golden opportunity to have a glimpse of these iconic cats up in the acacia and fig trees. You might also see other wild animals grazing and browsing in the same area. Continue with the drive out of the park and with enroute lunch drive to Bwindi Forest National Park home to the endangered mountain gorillas. Dinner and overnight at Bakiga Lodge (midrange) / Mahogany Springs Lodge (Luxury).
Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
The highlight of your 8 Day gorilla trekking adventure is finally here. At 07:30 AM, gather at the park headquarters for registration and briefing on the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. The trek begins at 8:00am and can last for between to over 8 hours before you meet the gorillas. Once gorillas are found, you will be allowed to spend an hour in their presence.
Endeavor to apply all rules and regulations as told in the briefing, take as many photos as possible for memories and enjoy this magical encounter. If time allows in the evening, visit the Batwa pygmies to learn and experience their traditions, norms, customs and beliefs. Dinner and overnight at the lodge
Day 6: Explore Lake Bunyonyi
Spend this whole day chilling and exploring the hidden gem at Lake Bunyonyi. Have a relaxed breakfast on the shores of Lake Bunyonyi. Chill at the balcony of your room enjoying cold fresh breeze. In the evening, embark on a sunset boat cruise exploring different islands of the lake.
The popular visited islands include Bushara island, the Punishment island and Bwama islands among others. Other optional activities at and around Lake Bunyonyi include canoeing, swimming, hike to the top of the mountain, batwa community tours and ziplining among others. Dinner and overnight at Eco Resort Bunyonyi (Comfort) / Birdnest Bunyonyi Resort (Luxury).
Day 7: Drive Back to Entebbe & The Equator Experience
Enjoy your last moments at Lake Bunyonyi, have a relaxed breakfast and check out. You will then embark on a scenic drive back to Kampala. Have a stop at the famous Uganda equator for photography and souvenir shopping. Proceed to Entebbe for dinner and overnight at the hotel
Day 8: Departure Flight to Paris
Depending on your international flight schedule, enjoy a free morning exploring the Entebbe Botanical Gardens or taking an optional boat trip to the Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Superfine Safaris will provide a timely private transfer to the airport for your flight back to Paris-Charles de Gaulle.
