Established as part of the “Bakiga Community Project”, a nonprofit NGO, Bakiga Lodge is one of the most common midrange accommodation options in the Ruhija sector, on the Eastern side of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Being an NGO, all profits from the Lodge are used for developing community projects such as the construction of water tanks and springs hence providing communities access to clean water.

It overlooks a stunning Valley and provides guests with real African experiences as well as jaw-dropping views of the verdant forest. This high-quality African Eco Lodge is just 10 minutes’ drive from the Ruhija headquarters, although through a steep and rough terrain.

It was constructed with local raw materials (such as rocks from the area, eucalyptus trees, and banana fiber for thatching) and a local workforce.
