Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Visit Uganda Museum, Baháʼí House of Worship & Gadaffi Mosque
After morning breakfast, start your day by visiting the Uganda Museum, the oldest museum in East Africa. The museum offers a comprehensive collection of Uganda’s cultural heritage, including ethnographic, natural history, and archaeological exhibits. From there, head to the Bahai temple, the only one of its kind in Africa located on Kikaya Hill. The temple has a unique architectural design and serene grounds offer a peaceful escape and great views of the city. You will then have lunch and in the afternoon visit the Gadaffi mosque and the independent monument as you return to your hotel for an overnight
Day 2: Kasubi Tombs , Kabaka’s Palace, Kabaka’s Lake & the cathedrals
Following breakfast, transfer to the Kasubi royal tombs, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the burial grounds of four Buganda Kings. It’s an important cultural and spiritual site. Learn about the Buganda cultural heritage and beliefs. From there, visit the Kabaka’s Palace where you can you can learn about the history of the Buganda Kingdom and the infamous torture chambers of Idi Amin within its grounds. Have lunch and in the afternoon visit the Kabakas Lake, Namirembe and Rubaga cathedrals to learn about Anglican and Catholic religious beliefs and how Christianity was brought in Uganda. Dinner and overnight at your hotel
Day 3: Visit Local markets and Ndere Cultural Center
Have breakfast and visit the vibrant Owino Market in downtown, one of Kampala’s largest and busiest markets. Owino serves all kinds of products, foods, vegetables, and fruits. Also, visit Nakasero Market in up town for fresh produce, spices, and a more organized market experience.. You can also visit local craft shops like Buganda Road Craft Village or the craft shops behind the National Theatre for souvenirs and local art. Have lunch and relax. In the evening, visit the Ndere cultural center for vibrant performances of traditional Ugandan music, dance, and storytelling. Overnight at your hotel
Day 4: Day Trip to Entebbe, Wildlife Education Center, Botanical Gardens & Beach
Travel to Entebbe to visit the Wildlife Education Centre, home to various wild animals, birds, and reptiles. You can also visit the Entebbe botanical gardens and then go to the beach for various water sports activities
