Detailed Itinerary
Day 1:Pick up and transfer to the Hotel
Upon your landing at Entebbe International Airport, you will find the happy driver guide of Superfine Safaris Limited waiting to welcome you. After the meet and greet, you will transfer to your hotel in Entebbe for refreshment, dinner, and overnight
Day 2: Rhino tracking at Ziwa and visit the top of the Falls
Have a hefty breakfast at the hotel in Entebbe, check out, and drive north-westwards headed to Murchison Falls National Park. Stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongola to trek the critically endangered rhinos. The sanctuary is the only place where Rhinos are seen in the whole of Uganda. to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongola for the experimental rhino tracking adventure. Enjoy an encounter with rhinos, learn about their lifestyles, and take memorable photos. You will then have lunch and embark on a drive to Murchison Falls National Park. Tour the top of the mighty falls for great views of the stunning Nile waters, best for photography. You will then transfer to Pakuba safari lodge for dinner and overnight
Day 3: Game viewing and boat cruise
Today is for exploring Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s oldest and largest park. Go for early morning game drives in the northern part of the park, known for having a high concentration of wild animals. Expect to see numerous wild animals such as Giraffes, Elephants, Buffaloes, Uganda Kobs, Waterbucks, Topis, Warthogs, and Hyenas, among others.
Return to the lodge for a late breakfast and chill waiting for hot lunch. In the afternoon, go for a boat cruise to the bottom of the Falls. Enjoy seeing the Nile waters strongly squeeze through a 7-meter narrow gorge, falling 43 meters into the devil’s cauldron to form a permanent rainbow. The cruise is also the best spot for bird watching and seeing aquatic wild animals on the river banks. Dinner and overnight at Pakuba Safari Lodge
Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Today is your last day in Murchison Falls National Park. Have a relaxed breakfast and drive out of the park, headed to Kibale Forest National Park, the “Primate Capital of Africa”. You will have various stops along the way for refreshment, photography, and scenic viewing. Have lunch en route and proceed to Kibale Forest, arriving in the afternoon. Send the rest of the evening chilling at your lodge as you prepare for tomorrow’s chimpanzee trekking adventure. Dinner and overnight at Kibale Forest Camp
Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Have an early morning breakfast and transfer to Kanyanchu visitor information for registration and briefing on the dos and don’ts of chimpanzee trekking. At 8:000, start the trek through the forest in search of the endangered chimpanzees, which are man’s close relatives. The armed ranger guide will help you slash the trails, making it easy to trek through.
The trek is also an opportunity to see other primates such as the red-tailed monkeys, baboons, L’hoest Monkeys, Blue monkeys, Grey-cheeked mangabeys, Black and white Colobus monkeys, among others. The allowed time with chimpanzees is an hour. Other activities to do in Murchison Falls National Park include bird watching, butterfly watching, nature/forest walking, Bigodi wetland walk, and community trips, among others. Later in the afternoon, drive to Bwindi Forest National Park. Dinner and overnight at Bakiga Lodge
Day 6: Mountain gorilla trekking and Batwa community tours
Rise up very early, enjoy a heavy breakfast, and with a packed lunch, drive to the park headquarters where you are registered, briefed, and allocated a gorilla family to trek. The trek to search for gorillas starts at 8:0am, and there is no specific time to send into the jungle as it ranges between 2-7 hours. The armed ranger guide will escort you into the jungle, ensuring safety.
You are reminded to keep the gorilla trekking rules and regulations as briefed at the start. You will be allowed to spend an hour with the endangered gorillas to take memorable pictures and learn their unique characteristics. The allowed time with gorillas is strictly an hour. Later in the day, you will visit the Batwa local communities to learn and experience their traditional forest lives. Dinner and overnight at Bakiga Lodge
Day 7: Departure
This is your last day in Bwindi Forest. You can have an optional morning forest walk or just chill in your room. Have a relaxed breakfast, check out and drive to Kigali for your departure flight
