Why Choose Uganda for Your Gorilla Safari from France?
Whereas you can also see gorillas in Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda stands out as an exceptional gorilla trekking destination. The country boasts two primary gorilla parks which are Mgahinga Gorilla National Park and the main Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Bwindi forest is divided into four gorilla trekking regions which are Buhoma, Ruhiga, Rushaga, and Nkuringo. Together, these regions host over 20 habituated gorilla families available for trekking. Choosing Uganda also allows French travelers to easily combine their primate trek with other wildlife experiences such as game viewing/boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park and chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest National Park

How is the Gorilla Trekking Day like?
Transfer to the park headquarters
The gorilla trekking day begins with an earl transfer to the respective park headquarters. In Bwindi Forest, you report to any of the respective park headquarters. These are Buhoma, Ruhija, Nkuringo and Rushaga while in Mgahinga National Park, you report to Ntebeko visitor information center
The Pre-Trek Briefing
Upon arrival at the park headquarters, you are assembled for a pre trekking briefing. This is mainly an orientation on the safety measures, the rules and regulations of gorilla trekking and what to expect in general. Some of the rules are keeping a 7 meters distance from the gorillas, using a non-flashlight camera and not trekking when sick. You are also reminded not to look in the directly in the eyes of gorillas to avoid irritating them
The actual trek
At 8:00am, the actual gorilla trekking adventure begins. In the company of the armed park rangers, begin the hike penetrating into the dense forests of Bwindi or Mgahinga Gorilla parks. The trek takes you through thick vegetation, muddy slopes and steep areas. Hiking time can take between 1 to over 6 hours depending on the location of the gorillas
The Magic Hour
The magic hour is finally here! Enjoy the company of the endangered mountain gorillas. Enjoy seeing how gorillas groom, feed, socializing and live their lives. The silverback gorilla seriously watches over the entire family; adult females nurse the infants while juveniles keep the family lively
