Detailed 5-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your Superfine Safaris Limited guide before being transferred to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you may do any of the optional activities which include visiting the Lake Victoria shoreline, local craft markets, Uganda wildlife Education Centre and the botanical gardens among others. Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After an early breakfast, depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in south western Uganda. The 8-10 hours drive takes you through the beautiful country side, tea farms, banana plantations, traditional villages and towns. You will have a stop at the Uganda Equator for refreshment and photography. Proceed to Mbarara for a lunch break and continue with a drive to Bwindi, home to the endangered Mountain gorillas.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking Experience
Enjoy an early breakfast before reporting to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing, registration and gorilla family allocation. You will be assigned two-armed ranger guides from Uganda Wildlife Authority to escort you on a search for gorillas.
Begin the trek looking for the allocated gorilla family. The trek may last between 2 to over 6 hours depending on the location of the gorillas. The trekking time is also determined by the speed of the slowest member in your group. Ranger guides never leave anyone behind. They move at the speed of the slowest person in the group.
Once found, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing these amazing primates in their natural habitat. Watch the silverback guarding his family, observe how gorillas groom, feed, interact and share responsibilities just like in a human home. At the end of the trek, you will be given a gorilla trekking certificate and transfer back to the lodge.

Day 4: Transfer to Lake Mburo – Boat cruise & Game Drive
Following breakfast, depart Bwindi Forest and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. He 4-5 hours’ drive through kigezi rolling hills and Ankole cattle farms is rewarding. Arrive in the afternoon and refresh. Join a boat cruise on Lake Mburo for fresh cold breeze and scenic views. In the evening, have a guided game drive in the open savannahs of the park for excellent game viewing experience. Some of the animals seen in Lake Mburo National Park include Zebras, Rothschild’s Giraffes, Buffaloes, Impalas, Topis, Elands, Waterbucks, Warthogs, Hippos and crocodiles among others. Day 5: Walking Safari & Departure
Go for an early morning walking experience in the park to meet wild animals rising, birds singling sweetly and wild animals actively feeding before sunrise Walking is an opportunity to meet and interact with animals such as zebras, giraffes, antelopes plus numerous birds. Return to the lodge for breakfast, check out and drive to Kampala for your departure flight at Entebbe International Airport.

Gorilla Trekking Permit

Uganda gorilla permits are issued by the Uganda Wildlife Authority and Superfine Safaris helps you reserve and book the permit. Current permit fees in Uganda are $800 for foreign nonresidents, $700 for foreign residents and UGX 300,000 for East African citizens
